Fireflies
‘Nobody has ever made it alone, we have all been mentored by someone at some point in life!’
Fireflies is one of the most notable and noble initiatives at NMIMS, Mumbai. Through this initiative, students from the college are connected to a child from an NGO for a one-on-one mentorship program. It provides students a chance to be a navigator and guide in a child’s life. The purpose of the initiative isn’t just helping out the child with their academics, but is also to have a positive influence on the child’s personality, and grooming them to be better prepared for the life ahead.
Mentorship is a two-way street, along with helping the mentee to improve, it teaches mentors to be more empathetic and concerned for the society. By spending quality time with the children of the NGO, students understand the challenges faced by the underprivileged in pursuing education and development opportunities for a better and brighter future.
