We Care: Civic Engagement Internship
NMIMS believes in imbibing the values of social sensitivity among its students. We Care: Civic Engagement Internship was initiated in the year 2010 with the same objective. In the academic year 2021-22, students were placed in 308 organizations across 154 cities, twenty-two states, and two union territories. Students are allocated internship projects in various social spheres like advocacy and empowerment, child welfare, community development, corporate social responsibility (CSR), differently-abled, environment and animal welfare, livelihood support and skill development, business development of NGO/social enterprise, financial management, and resource mobilization, health and women empowerment. To improve the program structure for the upcoming years, the We Care Team sought feedback from the internship organizations. Out of the 308 organizations, 145 provided us with feedback. Under the Satisfaction with the Intern’s conduct, 48% of the organization reported a high level of satisfaction. 40% of the organization gave a 4/5 rating. Under the Quality of Work, 46% rated it excellent, while 41% rated it very good. Though it was a semi-virtual /virtual internship, it was a great learning experience for all the students and they made the most of the internship by contributing their absolute best in the given circumstances.
