ORPHANAGE VISIT & MENSTRUAL HYGIENE WORKSHOP
As a part of the Joy of Giving Week Initiative, 14 dedicated volunteers from SRF visited Mother Teresa’s Missionaries of Charity in Santacruz, Mumbai, a renowned orphanage for girls. The core purpose of the visit was to conduct a crucial menstrual awareness and hygiene session for approximately 40 girls aged between 8 to 18 years. Led by Ms Anahita Goswami, a student from NMIMS with prior experience in this field, the session covered essential topics such as menstrual hygiene practices, sanitary napkin usage, and proper disposal methods.
The initiative also included the distribution of sanitary pads valued at Rs. 18,000, generously provided by Plush. Beyond the educational session, the SRF team engaged the girls in interactive activities and games, fostering a sense of joy and camaraderie. Additionally, stationery items and nutritious food were distributed.
This exemplified the spirit of empathy and community support, leaving a lasting positive impression on both the volunteers and the girls at the orphanage.
